About

Kostas Kardamis' research activities and publications are mainly focused on Neohellenic music (with particular emphasis on 18th and 19th centuries) and on the interaction of music, society and politics. His research interests also include opera, musical theatre, history of brass instruments, community music and band music.

Since 2002 he teaches in the Music Department of the Ionian University. He is a member of the 'Hellenic Music Research Lab' of the aforementioned department and of the editorial committee of the musicological journal 'Moussikos Loghos', as well as General Editor of the series Monuments of Neohellenic Music. He is also a member of the RILM Committee for Greece. Since 2003 he is the curator of the archive and the museum of the Philharmonic Society of Corfu.

Parallel activities include tuba playing and his participation in brass ensembles.
