Thesis Title: The Geopolitics of International Financial System - Money Laundering
About
Stavros Katsios is Ascossiate Professor of International Economic Relations & International Economic Crime at the Department of Foreign Languages Translation and Interpreting of Ιonian University. Since June 1st 2011 (effective September 1st 2011), he is elected Vice Rector of the Ionian University.
He is teaching the course "Money Laundering" at the Hellenic Bank Institute (ETI) and is an Attorney member of the Thessaloniki Bar and member of the German Bar Association (DAV).
Asc Professor Stavros Katsios is author of the first study on Money Laundering in Greece (PhD Thesis) and an academic member (CAMS) of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists-ACAMS), USA. He was appointed member of the Special Adsvisory Commitee for the modification of the greek taxation system of the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finances and worked as a member of the Working Group on Non-Tax Revenues (criminal activity, Anti-Money Laundering Act Nr. 2331/95, etc.). He has worked for the introduction of an efficient Regime against Money Laundering and the relevant "internal national security threats" publishing a series of relevant articles in scientific journals and newspapers. His research activities focus on the interaction of economic crime and especially of money laundering in development, on governance and international economic dioplomacy.
He is the editor of the "Globalization & Governance" Series at the Papazisis Publishers, Athens
